Timeline of the First Part of Genesis
I have recently started studying the genealogy of the Bible. The following table list the births and deaths of the Biblical character from Adam to Isaac. For sake of reference, I have started year ‘0’ as the birth of Adam. I am not trying to say anything about the age of the earth, only a reference point to compare for the ages of the following generations.
Year

0 “Birth” of Adam 130 Birth of Seth (son of Adam) 280 Birth of Enosh (son of Seth) 370 Birth of Kenan (son of Enosh) 440 Birth of Mahalalel (son of Keanan) 505 Birth of Jared (son of Mahalalel) 667 Birth of Enoch (son of Jared) 732 Birth of Methuselah (son of Enoch) 919 Birth of Lemech (son of Methuselah) 930 Death of Adam 930 1032 Enoch taken away 365 1042 Death of Seth 912 1101 Birth of Noah (son of Lemech) 1185 Death of Enosh 905 1280 Death of Kenan 910 1335 Death of Mahalalel 895 1467 Death of Jared 962 1603 Birth of Shem (son of Noah) 1696 Death of Lemech 777 1701 Death of Methuselah 769 1701 Flood 1703 Birth of Arphaxad (son of Shem) 1736 Birth of Salah (son of Arphaxad) 1766 Birth of Eber (son of Salah) 1800 Birth of Peleg (son of Eber) 1830 Birth or Reu (son of Peleg) 1862 Birth of Serug (son of Reu) 1899 Birth of Nahor (son of Serug) 1928 Birth of Terah (son of Nahor) 1998 Birth of Abram/Abraham (son of Terah) 2039 Death of Peleg 239 2047 Death of Nahor 148 2051 Death of Noah 950 2069 Death of Reu 239 2098 Birth of Isaac (son of Abraham) 2099 Death of Serug 237 2133 Death of Terah 205 2139 Death of Arphaxad 436 2169 Death of Salah 433 2173 Death of Abram/Abraham 175 2203 Death of Shem 600 2230 Death of Eber 464
So, that is the Bible Timeline from Adam to Isaac. It is very interesting (at least to me) that Shem, a son of Noah, out lived Abraham. A man who had lived through the flood was still alive when Abraham and Isaac where alive. Also interesting is that Methusalah died the same year as the flood. Did he die in the flood or before? The Bible does not say so there is no way to know for sure.
